How to Get Traffic from Pinterest Quick and Easy

How to Get Traffic from Pinterest: Social media can now be termed as the best way to drive traffic to your website and to create buzz about the products and services that you are providing. Over the recent years it has been shifting from text based communication and now it is almost entirely in the visual format.

Pinterest which is a website that allows users to share photos and many other forms of media is one of the best examples.

People now want to see images and videos of the products that are on offer instead of just texts describing the products. The website allows users to pin the different forms of media on their virtual pin boards where other web users can see them. With this in mind it is now very essential that you know how to drive traffic to your business by using Pinterest so that you can get to reap its benefits.

Compare Facebook vs Twitter vs Pinterest Traffic

Driving traffic to your business website by using Pinterest is quite an easy task so long as you follow some easy tips. It will help you increase the number of unique visitors coming to your website while at the same time retaining your current visitors. Below are some of the ways in which you can make the most out Pinterest and use it to drive traffic to your business website.

Pinterest Traffic Secret

1 Getting Started: The first and probably most important thing that you have to do is to familiarize yourself with Pinterest. When using a new platform for the first time you may have difficulties in using it even if you are tech savvy. At first you should try and get to know the various features that they offer.

Get to know the basic functions that are associated with managing your account. Understanding the features available and knowing how to use them will considerably boost your efforts. Start by creating a personalized profile that best describes your business so that users know what you are all about. It is also important that you keep yourself updated with any new features since most of them will be aimed at making your business more successful.

1.1 Basic functions associated with managing your Pinterest. Hoover over to your name at the top right corner of Pinterest website as shown in image below.

  • Your Boards – This is similar to Categories in WordPress or Folder in your computer. It shows you all the boards you have created and allow you to create new board
  • Your Pins – Takes you to a page that shows you everything you have already pinned and allow you to add new pin.
  • Your Likes – Similar to Facebook Likes.
  • The rest are self explanatory.

2 Automatic Sharing on Twitter and Facebook. The second step would be connecting your Pinterest to your other social media accounts. The importance of this can never be overemphasized. When you connect your Pinterest to your Twitter or Facebook account it will allow you to automatically post to these sites. This is great since many people will be in a position to see your posts. Some people tend to use only one form of social media such as twitter only and allowing Pinterest to post to these sites will allow you to reach more people. Note: You can only connect to personal Facebook profile and not business page.

3 Pinning content is also very critical in driving traffic to your business. You can pin content by: uploading images from your computer, using the pin it button and by re-pinning content that other people have already pinned. When pinning content you should consider when people are most active and that is the best time since many people will get to see your content. Activity on Pinterest peaks around 5-7 AM and again from 5-7 PM Eastern time.

3.1 Some pinning tips include: pinning content that is relevant to your business, using the most attractive images that you can find, focusing on lifestyle instead of products and using keywords so that search engines can find your content.

4Engaging people will also get you maximum traffic. People like to be listened to and talked to. Make efforts to engage your audience so that your efforts become more effective. You can do this by replying to peoples questions sincerely and in a personal tone, holding contests where you reward the most active users, commenting on your pins, following users that are relevant to your business, using videos, asking for re-pins and re-pinning other peoples pins and posting pins to blogs and forums.

When you do this then you are almost sure that the traffic generated by Pinterest will be greater and will help you promote your business.

While Pinterest is a fast growing social media site, it is one of the most difficult from which to drive traffic, especially for amateur and part time bloggers. The bloggers that see the most benefits from Pinterest are those that are already established as full time, professional bloggers who already have a healthy following and are seen as experts in their niche. My advice is to focus on producing high quality content and sharing on other social media avenues to build an audience before relying on Pinterest.

It’s very difficult to gain traffic when you don’t have followers. Great suggestion on the time of pinning though every audience is unique and I suggest finding the best time through A/B testing. Great read!
