Adding Google+ Comment to WordPress Site and Blogger Blog

Comment BubbleThey say change is inevitable and quite true to this saying the waves of change seem to be hitting hard on the Google community. As much as Google is doing away with a number of features, it’s also introducing new resources to cater for its ever growing community. For instance, the Google + comment which was introduced only recently by Blogger has become one of the popular comment systems for blogger blogs.

In fact, the Google + comment is becoming quite popular such that other blogs including WordPress have had the plugin developed for their blogs. With such hype surrounding a simple plugin one would almost wonder what it really does. Is it as effective as they make it seem? How does it even work?

The Google + comment works pretty much like a Facebook comment box. For instance, when you share the link to your blog on the Google plus community and a member of your circle comments on the particular post, the comment will show on your blog. In the same way, if one of your visitors places a comment on your blog it will also appear on Google where you posted the link. As you can imagine, this works effectively to increase traffic to your blog.

To top it all off activating Google + comment is quite easy. For example, activating it on WordPress only takes 3 simple steps;

1. Downloading the Google+ comment plugin for WordPress (Plugin by Brandon

2. Uploading the Google+ comment for WordPress to your WordPress directory

3. Activating the plugin from your dashboard

As for Blogger blog using Google + comment is as easy as logging in to your Blogger dashboard, clicking on Google + and ticking on the option for “Use Google + comments on this blog”.

Still it is important to note that Google+ comment is still on its early stages of development so it doesn’t have many features but with time you can be sure you’ll be getting a lot more from this innovative and promising tool.

    Lately I’ve seen some bloggers debating about pros and cons of using the Google comment system in their blog. Feel lucky that I’m using WordPress, installing it is really easy with plugin.

    I read earlier that Google+ is now the second largest social network. It’s just taken over Twitter. I think I might try to implement Google+ instead of Disqus

      I have just added the G+ comment after this post. To be honest, I have no clue whether it provides extra SEO benefits but I am seeing more G+ sharing on this particular post. The cons is that it create fragmented discussion by using WP, G+ and FB comment system on the same post.

    I think I’m still a little up in the air about this plug in. I’m a fan of CommentLuv but I’m sure there could be some benefits with the Google+ comments.

    For the best comment system will be the one which engages the readers the most.It may be different for different sites.The best way to find that out is by implementing the commenting system.Based on the responses of the audience-keep it or dump it.
